In our last post, we wrote about the enormous benefits of Bryant variable-speed air conditioners
and why we recommend them to our customers. We are proud to offer the best in HVAC technology to homeowners, and the Evolutionseries of air conditioners are at the pinnacle of what people want from comfort today: superb cooling performance, high energy efficiency, and whisper-quiet operation.
But we install more than Bryant variable-speed air conditioning systems. We also install Bryant Evolutionvariable speed-heat pumps
for our customers who want to enjoy the dual-power of the heat pump for their home comfort.
If you aren’t familiar with the basics of the heat pump, here’s a quick rundown on what separates it from the standard air conditioner.
A heat pump, like an air conditioner, is a refrigerant-based system that uses a compressor to force chemical refrigerant to move between indoor and outdoor sets of coils, absorbing heat through one set by evaporating and releasing heat through the second set by condensing. But the standard air conditioner only circulates refrigerant one direction so that it removes heat from the indoors to cool down the air in the house. A heat pump has a reversing valve that allows it to change the direction of refrigerant circulating so that it removes heat from outside and releases it inside. In other words, a heat pump can change quickly from working as a cooling system to working as a heating system.
You might wonder where a heat pump gets the heat during winter if it has to draw it from the outdoor air. There is always thermal energy available outside, no matter how cold it is, and Bryant heat pumps are designed to handle extremely cold temperatures without suffering drops in their energy efficiency. If installed professionally, a heat pump can use far less electricity in heating mode compared to an electric furnace, which makes heat pumps great choices for all-electric homes.
Our Bryant heat pump services in Indianapolis
will match you with the right system to meet your needs. As with the Evolutionvariable-speed air conditioners, Bryant heat pumps with Evolution
technology can operate at lower capacity levels to help conserve energy. In cooling mode, the Evolution
heat pump has up to 18 SEER, and in heating mode, up to 11 HSPF ( heating seasonal performance factor
)—making it one of the top heat pumps on the market for efficiency!
You can expect the same tremendous benefits from an Evolutionheat pump as you would from an Evolution
air conditioner:
Bryant heat pumps are also available as dual-fuel systems that use back-up furnace heating if necessary. Ask us if this is a good option for your house. We are here to help answer any questions you may have about finding the ideal way to provide energy-saving comfort all around the year.
